Sign up with your email or Google, add a profile photo and tell us what you eat. Here's everything that's new.
Nearbites has always been about the meal, not just the restaurant: the dumplings, the laksa, the Saturday brunch you keep coming back to. Today you can make Nearbites yours, with an account.
It's free, it takes about a minute, and it's the foundation for a lot of what we're building next.
What's new
- Sign up with email or Google. Use your Google account in one tap, or sign up with an email and password. We'll send a 6-digit code to confirm your email.
- Your profile. Pick a display name and a username, and add a short bio if you like.
- A profile photo. Upload one from your phone or computer. We crop it to a square and strip out hidden details like location data before saving it.
- Dietary preferences. Tell us what you eat: vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free or halal.
- You're in control. Change your password, log out of every device at once, or delete your account whenever you want, all from account settings.
Your taste should follow you around, not start from scratch every lunch break.
Keeping your account safe
Passwords are never stored in a readable form, sign-in sessions expire on their own, and password reset links only ever go to the email on your account. If you ever lose a device, "Log out of all devices" in settings ends every session in one go.
What's coming next
Accounts are the first step. Next we're working on making your preferences useful across the site, and on letting restaurant owners claim their listings so menus, hours and photos come straight from the people who know them best.
